The 87th Legislature: Week One
This week, lawmakers met at the Texas Capitol, our sanctuary of democracy, to begin the important work of the 87th legislative session. During these troubled times, we affirm the miracle and the importance of self-government, a gift from our founders that is nurtured in each generation. We give thanks each day for the women and men who serve to make our political process work.
We look forward to working for the protection of our courts, safer roads, and fair treatment by insurance companies this session. In doing so, we hope to lift up Texas as a place where justice matters for generations to come.
