Texas Watch's Executive Director, Ware Wendell, submitted written comments to the House Committee on Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence in opposition to HB 1745, HB 19, and HB 3166. You can read the comments below. HB 1745 places legal hurdles in front of those harmed in a rideshare vehicle. HB 19 gives the governor power to hand pick judges for a newly created "business court." HB 3166 unnecessarily creates a Fifteenth Court of Appeals.
