Currently, all Texas state judges are directly accountable to the voters, who entrust them with office. But corporate lobbyists are pushing for the creation of a special “business court” with statewide judges hand-picked by the governor. HB 19 and SB 27 will needlessly strengthen the grip of the executive branch while disempowering you as a voter.
